Sreekuttan M Unni, PhD

Dr. Unni earned his M.Sc. in Chemistry from the School of Chemical Sciences, Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, before pursuing his Ph.D. at CSIR–National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL), Pune. During his doctoral research, he focused on developing non-precious metal electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction in low-temperature fuel cells.

Following his Ph.D., he was awarded the prestigious Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan, where his research centered on the development of advanced electrocatalysts for green energy technologies.

In August 2017, Dr. Unni joined the CSIR–Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR-CECRI) Madras Unit, Chennai, as a Scientist. His research is focused on energy conversion/storage technologies and the design of advanced electrocatalysts for the activation of small molecules for the fine chemicals production. His work contributes to the development of sustainable energy solutions through innovative electrochemical materials and processes.
