Dr Unni completed MSc from School of Chemical Sciences, M. G. University, Kottayam and joined for PhD at CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR-NCL) Pune.  In his PhD, he worked on the development of non-precious electrocatalyst for oxygen reduction reaction for low-temperature fuel cells.  After his PhD, he joined as JSPS postdoctoral fellow at Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan. In Titech, his main research area was the development of electrocatalyst for green energy devices. In August 2017, he joined at CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute Madras Unit, Chennai as a scientist. His research activities mainly focus on the energy conversion devices and electrocatalyst development for organic/inorganic fuel production and its utilisation through fuel cells.
